Welcome to North West Macular Service

We provide treatment for macular conditions to patients across the North West of England. Delivered by Care UK and local consultant group, Manchester Consultants Eye Partnership (MCEP), our services are the highest performing in the UK, and we are the only provider to achieve clinical trial outcomes at CCG-scale.

We only treat NHS patients and are passionate about creating an exceptional experience and clinical outcome for all NHS patients. We are dedicated to delivering the highest standards of quality in all aspects of our service, and provide a full range of hospital services. We believe in treating patients as quickly as possible, so that patients recover faster, have better outcomes and so that we play our part in reducing overall healthcare costs.

As a result, our CCG-scale outcomes in Wet AMD are the best in the UK. 99% of patients recommend the service and over 98% rate us as 10/10.

What conditions do we treat?

We specialise in the treatment of suspected Wet AMD (age-related macular degeneration).

Patients are seen by both specialist macular nurses and doctors, and care is overseen by an experienced consultant surgeon who is an expert in the treatment of macular and retinal disease. Patients are referred to the service by GPs, optometrists and hospitals.
